The Distribution Reform, Upgrades and Management (DRUM) program is a partnership between USAID and the Government of India’s Ministry of Power to help the country upgrade and transform its electricity distribution sector. By establishing “centers of excellence” that demonstrate some of the best commercial and technological practices, the project is helping to develop a model electricity distribution system in India. USAID also provides utility personnel with training in the commercial, technical, safety, communication, and management aspects of electricity distribution. Watch this video to learn more.

1st Quality Circle Awards
First PSPCL Quality Circle award
were organized on 2.7.2012 by Organisation Development and Management
Development Cell, PSPCL Patiala. Awards were given by Er. K.D. Chaudhri, CMD
PSPCL to the Winner, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up.
Director/ HR Er. H.C. Seth, Chief Engineer/HRD Er. S.K. Arora graced the
occasion with there presence. The concept of Quality Circles has been introduced
in PSPCL for the very first time and as a pilot project, 14 No.s Quality
Circles were launched in PSPCL in September 2011 and each circle decided the
area/field in which would like to work. Based on the progress made in their
respective chosen areas and represented through the presentations, the Quality
Circles were ranked by the Experts Faculty from Institute for Professional
Excellence and Consultancy (iPEC) Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai. First Award was bagged by
team from GGSSTP Ropar, led by Er. Ranjit Singh Sr.XEN, 1st Runner
was the team from DS Subdivision Rohar Jagir, led by Er. Harkesh Singh, AE. 2nd
runner up was the team from Patiala West Technical Sub Division, led by Er.
Sukhminder Singh, AEE. Efforts of all the Quality Circles were hugely applauded
by CMD, PSPCL and he desired that such innovative efforts should carry on.
